I went out last night with the '52 Buick to the old train station in town to shoot some self-portraits to complete a weekly assignment in an online photography group I'm part of. It was pretty tricky, and I'm not used to being on the other side of the camera (let alone both sides of the camera like this), but I'm mostly happy with how this shot came out.

That is AWESOME especially the reflection. Im guessing you used a remote trigger mechanism of sorts.

Actually, I don't have a remote trigger. My setup was simply my Canon EOS 5D and Sigma 24-70mm lens set to f/2.8, 24mm, ISO 1600. I would have used the timer function, but fortunately I had a friend with me at the time acting as my remote trigger. I composed the shot and got into place, then he triggered the shutter.

So you did have a remote trigger, It just had some extra components, like a heart, lungs, stomach, colon, etc...

Exactly.

My "remote trigger" also had a special function not many remote triggers have: the ability to stand in my place while I composed the shot, and then switch back to the camera when I moved into place. :D

That actually could be useful, especially if you friend is a similar height to you.

Just a thought I had, but just from the image, how tall would you guess I would be? There's no real deception involved. I'm standing about the same distance away from the camera as the Buick's rear tire, I think.

6'3", lol. I had a feeling I looked shorter in this picture than I actually am. Probably because the Buick is taller than you might expect.

There's a reason they call em land yachts.

My friend drives a 62 buick special convertible, Original everything, less than 100k original miles, he's the second owner, its his first car. How tall do you think he is? Also I'm drawing it for him (nowhere near done): http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/the-buick-so-f…

well there's a lot less of him in the shot, but judging by the size of the car, 5'10"? He doesn't look short but also not really tall.
