On this topic, would you pay a subscription to watch the entire race live from on board cameras with no announcers or commercials? Something like being able to switch from car to car when ever you want?

quite possibly, but I'm a cheapskate. That said, I know some people who would (the guys at Axis of Oversteer, for sure).
Annoyingly, I don't believe this feature is available at any price in the US market, though I know it's available elsewhere (Sky, for instance).

The race did contain a lot of onboard footage, more than the usual broadcasts. They are my favorite shots, for sure, when the announcers say, "Lets ride along with Massa around the track. Enjoy," and then shut up for a little bit. I try to get as close to my TV as I can and pretend to drive.

I think if you subscribe to the BBC Red Button you can watch the race from a set number of car cams. Of course, you would need to live in the UK as well.

Indeed, I have heard they do. If I was aware of the largest such private torrent list, I might note that no one seems to have uploaded any Red Button footage from the Canada race. Of course if I had such knowledge, I would likewise note that all uploads went up really late, so there may have been technical difficulties with this race.
