JDM overload.
My mom might be buying a Jeep, probably a Patriot or Compass, and said there is a high chance of giving her car to me, which I have no problem with. I see this many ways.
1. I keep it as a DD and sell my Camry for 8 grand
2. I sell it for 5 grand and buy a new car
3. Sell it and buy the same thing except manual and black/blue
4. Sell Both and buy something cool because I'm 17/18 and I don't need two cars.
What do you guys think I should do?
Cars i've been looking at include Miatas, Golfs, RX-7s, 240SXs, 3 Series, IS', Imprezas, Passats, Legacys, TSXs,RSXs, Integras. Pretty much everything Japanese.
Edit: on the coolness of both cars, My friends love the Camry because the audio system is fucking amazing and the Civics is pretty awful, and the Civic has no AUX port. Kids at school think the civic is nice, but it blends in with the corollas and stuff because stock, and highschool will be history for me in a week. I personally enjoy the Civic for its driving dynamics over the Camry, but the Camry is more "luxurious". Smoother and better audio and better AC.

How many moms do you have? They all own the car, then?

I would keep the civic as a daily driver since it is funner, better, and cooler than a camry. Sell the camry, get a project car, and use that project car too hoon around. Preferably a rwd car. A miata or toyota MR2.

Or sell both and buy a nissan 370z or 350z.

but a hybrid camry is cooler than cool. the best is when I rev it and nothing happens!
MR2s sound delicous but they are pretty damn rare here.

sell them both and buy something cool and impractical, this is the time of your life when you don't need something sensible.
That's what I'm planning on doing once I turn 16, buy something dumb while I can

MR2's are rare in general. especially the aw11 which is the one I would get. But they are pretty cheap. You might have to go on a road trip to find a good cheap one, but it would be worth it in my opinion.

I'd say sell one and get a car to wrench on since you can afford it not breaking down seeing as you'll have a solid DD.

This is probably the OP's best plan. It's better to have one working car that's boring and anonymous and one project car than one really cool car that works 10% of the time every time.

Option 4 and get a WRX

I may catch flack from the Honda fan boys, but my mom has the exact same model year. I hate that car. It is so gutless, and the understeer is possibly the most horrendous I have ever experienced. Taking a turn at any sort of speed feels like a death struggle.

Sell both, acquire FA5. Sis of the generation have Aux ports and pretty nice systems. Plus the whole VTEC and bolt-action transmission thing.

I've driven a 2008 Corolla S, 2011 Mazda 3, 2013 Cruze, and a 2008 Camry and have to say the honda is my favourite. It has more feeling out of any of the cars listed, and I actually have a somewhat grin on my face when I floor it. With the Camry I don't even know if its responding to the gas pedel, the Mazda 3 just uses all the gas in the world and barely moves. The Corolla is terrifying because the whole body shakes for some reason. The cruze turbo was uneventful. Maybe if I drove something with sports over economy in mind I'd think of the civic differently though.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR MOM
YOU WOULD TELL HER RIGHT NOW TO STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE PATRIOT AND COMPASS
The Patriot is honestly the WORST car I've driven. The whole thing feels like it was made out of legos, terrible acceleration, pathetic handling, cheap crappy interior, terrible CVT, (the Jeep CVT itself is just an awful transmission), loud... just, no. It's a car you'd only let your worst enemies drive.

It certainly does have more feeling, I'll give it that. The Mazda 3 I drove for a few months certainly had better handling, power is hard to compare because I was mainly driving through foothills. Granted, it was also a first gen, I don't know how comparable it is to the second.

I own one. Great car!

I want her to get a CR-V. Not because im a Japanese lover but because its the smoothest suv I've ever sat in. The compass and patriot look like hackjobs from random suv parts comared to the higher quality cherokee and cool renegade in jeeps lineup.

The Rogue is nice too.

Forget that. Get her into a Subaru Forester.

you know what to do. Miata is always the answer. Either sell both and get a really nice new one, or sell one (either one depending on which you'd rather keep) and get an older miata (NA) for nice days and fun

Steer her towards... Forester if you can. Seriously, a solid car. /slight bias

I might be interested in buying this if you sell it for 5 grand... That is, if you're located anywhere somewhat nearby me and it's in good condition / doesn't have ridiculous mileage.
