It was in sad shape when i bought it.....

Kinja'd!!!

Hard to tell from this photo; but there had been a front end collision at some point that buckled the hood.

Kinja'd!!!

So after ~$200 at the pick n pull at a 50% off weekend, replaced the hood, majority of the interior is replaced (including Merc 190e power seats!), suspension is lowered a little bit, and the engine is running (wasn't when I bought it). Pics of it now:

Moving to west texas so no work until I am settled into the new garage - then need to start shopping for my donor mustang to set this thing 100% right!

Like the seat change, amazing how much a decent set of seats can improve a drive.

Is the fire extinguisher so you can help a Ferrari owner?

Ha...no. I had it laying around so why not?

Once I stuff a V8 under the hood it *may* be necessary!

Thanks! hooked them into a set of window buttons that came on a later year 240 that mounted in the center console so I can still put them up/down.

Liking the 190e seats. What was wrong with the engine when you bought it?

Cool mod, was wondering when you said they were power seats whether you managed to get them working.

just a bad distributor. Replaced, set timing and it was back in the game.

Did you need to make mounting brackets? If W202 Mercs and Volvo 240s have the same seat track width, that would be an awesome fact!

I did have to make new mounting brackets, but it was dead simple. Used 3/4" aluminum angle and the runners from the stock 240 seats. But yes - the width is similar enough to make it so I only had to drill and bolt - no special welding or fabricating; it was really a simple operation.

I lost the electronic forward/back and seat height, so now only have front/back slider from 240 and electronic recline that was built into the merc seat.
