Great lens. I bought mine four years ago, and it's probably been on my camera more than twice the time any other has.

Also, it's waaaaay better-built than the canon 50/1.4, and 77mm diameter, so it matches L lenses. Unusual that the Sigma actually costs more than the Canon equivalent, but it's totally worth it. The only drawback IMO is that the focus is pretty slow.

I noticed the focus was a little slow when I used it but I got over it when I saw the images it produced.

Yeah, it's the slowest focusing lens I've got (made worse since the 5d's slow to focus anyway), but I can forgive it all.
