The Spectra 5 is awesome. The second-gen Spectra is probably the first Kia worth buying, even though I do have a soft spot forsome of their cars like the Amanti, the first-gen Spectra GSX (a hatchback that was styled to look like a sedan "smartback") (a regular Spectra sedan was available, but it was just a slightly restlyed Sephia), and the first-gen Sportage convertible (first car in the US with a knee airbag).

That said, I probably wouldn't buy one as my only car unless I got a killer deal. Toyota is still the best :)

I have a huge soft spot for this car. I really shouldn't because it wasn't that good of a car.

buddy of mine has one. It desperately needs a clutch replacement, but he says other than that, the car is the definition of average. Nothing to hate, but nothing to really like about it
