Mercedes will lap the field in Canada

If Rosberg and Hamilton are fighting each other hard for the win they will lap the entire field this weekend in Canada. In Bahrain there was a safety car with 12 laps to go. Rosberg and Hamilton lost time battling side by side but put a 24 second gap in to the rest of the field in 12 laps. This week they have 70 laps on track which will exaggerate the characteristics that makes the Mercedes car strong.

Bahrain exaggerated the Mercedes engine. At one point 7 of the top 8 were powered by Mercedes. Canada will further exaggerate the characteristics that makes the W05-Hybrid strong with their long straights and slow corners. Low speed grip, acceleration and top speed are the strengths of the Mercedes as well as low tire wear and getting the tires to work. Barring a safety car with 70 laps around a much shorter track the Mercedes duo will lap the entire field.

Don't expect to see Ferrari or Red Bull standing on the podium either. Remember neither of those teams is using a Mercedes engine.

Safety car in Canada? Can't imagine that...

Other teams are using Mercedes-Benz power, but Williams and Force India haven't shown up in weeks, and McLaren...I'm not sure what happened to McLaren after round 1.
