This article popped up the other day in my home state's news outlet. While there are numerous crazy street names in CT, I figured there were likely better ones out in the OPPOsphere. So OPPO, tell me, what is the weirdest street name in your area? I submit 3 from CT, some that made the list, some not. Duck Hole Road in Madison CT, Roast Meat Hill Rd in Killingworth, and Blood Street in East Lyme. GO!

Not necessarily weird but Hood street is adjacent to the street I live on and I don't live in the best area of the city. Needless to say, my friends tease me endlessly about this.

I think Gæddvegen is the weirdest one around here.. not that it would mean shit to anyone who lives more than 40 miles away from where I live.. but Gædd = a yucky fluid (more or less) and Vegen = road. so yeah.. there's a road called yuckyfluidroad not far from here.

I don't know if it's the weirdest near me, but it's the first that came to mind: Table Mesa Drive. This is in a US state with a Spanish-derived name, with many cities with Spanish names, where there are family farms whose land titles date back to Spanish Crown land grants (which were honored), and has a lot of hispanic history, culture, and influence... so we name the street "Table Table"? Anyone with even a *high school* semester of Spanish picks up how dumb that is when they hear it. Of course, it may be part of a pattern. Last fire season, the signs on the charcoal grills in the parks saying not to use them had a Spanish translation on them that said "Please not to use the friendly grills."

Not too far from me there's a road called Lullington Garth. All the roads round there seem to have been named by someone having a bit of fun - and with an aversion to traditional road names like road, street, avenue, and so-on.

Amongst others, there's Cissbury Ring, Offham Slope, Folkington Corner, Walmington Fold, Northiam (and Southover, which is only ordinary in this company), Michleham Down, Shortgate, and of course Chiddingfold.
