Check out insurance for your event as well. I would assume they would require it, or if they don't you would at least look like you have your shit together.

yeah that was my first thought. Even if the riders sign a waiver if someone is there watching and trips on a french fry, the event could be liable

Yes, but fortunately he hadn't run it yet and the state saw it as an honest mistake.
