It just had it's transmission rebuilt. It was making a nasty whine and that was diagnosed as the problem. It drives better than ever, but I'm $1650 deeper in to the abyss.....

*What* was diagnosed as the problem? ("Transmission" is not a sufficient answer. "Accidentally installed straight cut gears" is.)

glad you decided to get it fixed. That z is too nice

What was your noise like? my car whines at 45mph, in gear and out of gear. Any slower it's not there, little bit faster and it goes away. Everything I've read says it's either fine and others have had it for 100k miles, or they replaced their transmission...

Feeling a lot better about the $889 I just pissed down the drain for 4 (2 disc 2 drum) brakes and the repair of the left front suspension linkage now.

Mine is auto. It had a very loud whine at all speeds.
