Was watching this show called Mysteries in the Museum with my FIL last night. The premise of the show is to showcase "mysterious" items in various museums and show a dramatic re-enactment. /r/mildlyinteresting
One of the items is a hat that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was wearing when he got wacked by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Apparently he was killed while driving home in his Mercury in 1945.
What does the re-enactment have him driving? A 60's Impala with rubber "Heartbeat of America" floor mats

Sounds like being an aviation nut watching a war movie.
"No! No! The Mk. VIII didn't see service until two months later! I don't care if no airworthy Mk. VIIs exist for filming! Don't sub in a Mk. VIII!"

That's some pretty seriously loose shit right there. Time for a 45 Mercury themed protest.

We had a history professor that ran a yearly event called "Bad historical movies" history geeks would get together and watch movies and eviscerate them for being historically inaccurate. It was like some bizzaro MST3K

Pet peeve of mine when movies show a pilot with two hands on the yoke. Or someone that's flown a 172 getting into a twin turbo prop and being able to start it up instantly.
