Why? Because they have a prancing horse logo on them? Do they make you as fast as a Ferrari? I do not understand people.

I worked with a guy who had 1000 dollar shoes. He was a stock boy at Walgreens like me.

Ferrari, Puma and the Minnesota Vikings teamed up to create a shoe?

I was thinking Grimace from McDonald's.

The worst part about these Puma driving shoes is that it's harder to find one without the Ferrari logo than with it.

I kinda like 'em.

Well, my "non sponsored" running shoes cost $116 so I'm actually surprised they aren't more simply because ferrari.
Saucony Men's Guide 6 shoes. Well, they cost 116 last year, the new model the 7 now costs just above 110.

Oof. This is why I can't afford shoes.

WELL
Before I got serious into long distance running (did a 10k aka 6.2 miles just a couple weeks ago, hoping to move up to half marathon before the end of the year) I found some Adidas at Kohls for 60 bucks and I ran them for 2 seasons of running and probably over 10 5k's and my first 10k. They worked good, but it was like going from all season to summer sport tires when I jumped up to the Saucony Guide 6.

What do $1000 shoes even look like?

Terrible.

you can get BMW Motorsport Pumas for $83 on Zappos. Or Mercedes AMG Petronas for $130

That's ridiculous, I bought my non-Ferrari pumas for $45 on sale...

I have a pair that are black and red and they didn't cost $110, and I wear a size 13. So I wonder what makes these so expensive?

When I got my (normally $110) Saucony running shoes, I was hesitant about the price and the salesman told me that they still had some from the previous generations in the back. They were almost exactly the same and I got them for $80. I don't know how often that kind of thing happens but I guess it's worth trying.

German shoes, but yeah sure.

No, I'm talking about the people who buy them. More specifically, I'm responding to YSI about his Walgreens coworker who spent $1,000 on shoes. Please pay attention.

Whats the difference between saving up to buy 1,000 dollar shoes and a jalop saving up to buy a Ferrari? I don't see someone saving up to buy something he prioritizes as 'whats wrong with america'. /flamesuit on.

He was a stock boy at Walgreens during the day, but he was also a pimp and a drug dealer at night.
What a waste of money though, lol

Because shoes don't last as long as a car (can) last, and also you can buy shoes that look just as good or work just as good for significantly cheaper, but you can't go find a car that looks, drives, sounds and feels like a Ferrari if you want a Ferrari.

Taste may be subjective but the shoes weren't what you would call understated. They were bright purple and yellow. . .Gah, he was a nice guy though, so I can't make fun of him too much.

Let me put it like this. They are both wastes of money, BUT some people buy a Ferrari for the driving experience. What 1000 dollar show won't let you experience the joy of a 50 dollar shoe?

It was a Nike of some sort. Can't tell you what they were for sure though. They were pearl Purplish color.

Purple Yeezy 2's?
Half-kidding, probably not. Sneaker prices get lofty quick though, I know what you're saying.

I don't agree. We are car guys and this is our passion. Shoes are his. To a non car person, they don't see any gigantic difference between and A5 and S5...they both drive well, look good, and they could never fathom spending so much more for the S. Just as non car people don't get our love for awesome, expensive cars, non shoe people don't see the difference. For the record, I would never spend anywhere near that much on shoes, just making a point.

Surely when he hangs out with his sneakerhead friends he has a different experience than if he came in wearing skechers. They are worth it to him, why do people get butthurt when others prioritize differently than them.

I agree with you. Things are worth how much you think they are. Something about his shoes just kind of annoys me. You know how people buy cars to show off. Yes while they may have bought the cars because they thought their money was worth it, it was more to impress people than to saticfy themselves. . . although I guess the people are satisfied by other people thinking their rich. Either way, there are more important things to worry about.
