No, I have mechanic gloves for dealing with sharp stuff or chilly weather though.

sometimes.
I find that the rubber coated cloth gloves work better for me. The nitrile exam gloves are impossible to put on if there is ANY moisture in the same county as your hand, which there most certainly will be if you've been working on the car wearing a pair and it's time for new gloves.

I wear mechanic gloves. Gives me good grip on stuff that needs gripping. And disposable vinyl gloves often rip.

Only when I have a Renault in the garage.

Bare hands most of the time, mechanics gloves if I really have to

I use Mechanix gloves, rubber ones only last once usually.

No. Mechanix Wear gloves or nothing, can't stand those Nitrile-dipped gloves and normal rubber gloves just don't agree with my sweaty palms.
That said, I only wear gloves if it's something warm/hot, if it's greasy I'd rather wash my hands than try to get the grease off the gloves.

No I like it when I get oil and WD-40 in my cuts and jack up my hands it makes me feel alive.

some messy jobs lile cv boots or something with fluids. But usually no. Hands get sweaty and i cant start any little bolts in tight places (which is 90% of the time on cars)

I use latex gloves sometimes. Keeps my fingernails clean.

Only if something is hot or can cut my hands, which means I only use the cloth/rubber ones.
On another note, do you wear protective eye wear?
![]() 04/28/2014 at 21:24 |

Yep, same here. Mechanics gloves when dealing with sharp metal and such and bare hands otherwise.

I wear the Nitrile ones. My fingernails are really long, so I'll be washing for days if I don't wear gloves.

I don't to begin with, then when my hands are thoroughly mucky and I need to keep something clean I put them on.
Probably the wrong way round, but ah well :)

I put on some nitrile gloves at the end of my project this weekend to protect my hands from my wheel cleaner (was giving my winter set a good scrub before putting them up for the summer). In general, I prefer bare hands unless the situation demands protection (or clean up afterwards would suck).

I usually wear rubber gloves so I don't get stuff on my hands, but I'll usually also wear my mechanix work gloves over them. It stops them from getting torn, and protects my hands too.

Only if I am going to be touching it in intimate areas....
