I turn 18 today so I'm thinking I'm going to a local cigar shop when its actually daytime with my friends, any suggestions from the cigar smoking car enthusiasts that happen to be awake at 12:06 in the morning.
P.S. I stole this image from milky when I asked for screen savers.

Assuming you've never had a cigar before and don't really know what to get, go for an Acid, real safe choice

I've had rather limited experience with cigars, what I know is that I don't like cheap gas station cigars and I do like hand rolled cigars from south of the border. Thanks for the suggestion.

Casa Magna or My Uzi Weighs A Ton. Trust me.

Honestly, don't get anything expensive. I would go with a Romeo and Julieta. It's not pricy and not bad. FYI, I'm 19 and already spend money on cigars, but they all seemed the same.

Sure thing, Acid's are from Nicaragua I believe and the difference between them and a cheap gas station cigar would be about the same as comparing a Lada and a Maserati

I've smoked cigars before, Ive just never purchased cigars before. Also never puked from smoking cigars. ;)

So build quality is similar but one makes you feel much more special.

I can definitely tell the difference between a good cigar and a bad one, I'm just looking to see what the best would be for me. Thanks for the advice.

Also, smoking will kill you. Enjoy!

More or less, I don't know anyone who hasn't enjoyed an Acid

Buy something illegally imported from Cuba and light it up with a hundo.
But, in all seriousness I think thats a great idea. Thats what I did on my 18th too. Just keep in mind that cigars are like wine. The most expensive stuff isn't always the best, and there's a lot of complexity to a good cigar. If you go to a good cigar shop, whoever is working there will be able to make suggestions. One of the best affordable cigars I've ever smoked (keep in mind my experience is a little limited. I'm only 19, after all) is either a Davidoff Nicaragua, which was under $20 (which I only know because I bought it), or an Arturo Fuente. I don't remember what the cigar was called, or how much it costs because I didn't buy it. But its got a more pointed end, kind of like a bullet. I don't think it could have cost more than $20 either, because a buddy of mine bought a bunch for 4 of us and he's doesn't usually like to spend money on other people. Ahaha. But definitely ask the guy who works there. He'll know way more than I ever will.
And happy birthday! Have a California!

I bought all mine in PR and they were recommended to me. So, quality is evident, but after that, ehh.

Nothing ends the night better than downing some brandi and sticking the end of an uzi in your mouth.

Man I have, when you're not used to tobacco and you smoke a big fat cigar it's bad news.

If you were born a day later, you could've shared a birthday with Saddam Hussein. (And Jay Leno. And me.)

Thanks man, I was really battling with my inner gangster as to weather or not I should light my cigar with a $100 but I'm thinking now I'm just gunna go with a stack of hundreds. ;)

Damnit! I love Leno, just not his stand up.

Ahaha. Glad I could help. Also, I fully support what Crasedclay said. Hookah bars are my shit this semester.

Apparently, he lives off his stand up earnings, and throws all his Tonight Show cash into savings.

Yep, and he's been doing the same standup routine for more than 20 years. But who am I to criticize, whatever gets me that garage I'm in.

Only speaking from experience. x2 on a Hookah Bar. There is a place here in Pittsburgh that's built out of an old church. It's just a dark, stained-glass-in-every-window, warming old church full of couches... with good music playing. It's as great as it sounds.

Ya a few of my friends frequent one, I think I'm gunna check it out.

Happy Birthday! I would recommend a Romeo Y Julieta - Museum. Typically I am not a fan of RYJ but the Museum is my favorite cigar. It also comes with a bit of artwork in the tube.
