The second one is from a stock E39. They came like this, just under the covers.
I didn't know stacks looked like this until I took to the interwebs. Pretty crazy looking.

From what I read. M engines are famous for them, you just never see them. It's sad to think of all the owners driving these around having no clue what lurks under the plastic cover.
