!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on the front page got me thinking about the girl/car connection, and well I'm not suprised by the fact the women with brains would see past the sexy car/sexy guy link, I mean...really is this a surprise to anyone? the article, however, didn't go into another subsection of car/hot association that I think VERY much exists:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Does he have a "cute" car? You know, cars that women like or think are cute or sexy; I think that actually does reflect positively on a guy for a lot of women. I'm thinking specifically Jeep Wranglers, or convertible mustangs, or an old clean bronco...that sort of thing.
Any of the lady opponauts care to chime in? Also, any other car you can think of that women would actually care (in a good way) that you drove?

Everyone loves this, and some of them are women. Make of that what you will.

I had a girl tell me my rental car was cute one time, I took it back immediately.

That's a beauty. Can't wait to get my 67 stroker living again.

Every woman really wants a man who drives a Cabrio.

Sidenote: I read the Jezebel article, and one of the stats that it quotes from the Harris poll is as follows:
Only about one-fifth of women say that they have found a man more attractive after seeing the type of car that he drives.
Sorry, but " only " 20% of women find a man more attractive after they see what kind of car he drives? That is quite a statistically significant number!

Every woman wants a gay friend too.

The more VSaabs on the road the better, especially strokers. Do post videos when you resurrect it!

You should ask if it's true.

Most girls love heated seats more than anything else.

yeah no joke, My wife has told me (and she is not a car person) that she's dated or considered dating someone based on their car.

I gotta admit, I love a heated seat WAAAY more than my wife does. dang I want heated seats again.

When I was in my teens I pined over no woman harder than the petite redhead with the tastefully modded Eclipse that could work a clutch in 5 inch heels. By that logic, the article author's point must be horseshit and it would be sexist of them to disagree with me. Checkmate Jezebel.

My cousin's not-exactly-girlfriend likes his under-construction Rover a hell of a lot more than his Cobalt SS, I think.

I think the figure would probably be even higher if fewer guys drove cheaply- and/or badly-modified cars!

I like how they think we like sports cars because we want to get laid. Who cares about driving dynamics when I can spend 100k just to possibly get laid!!

Don't even get me started on what caddy's "warning system" vibrating seats do to the ladyfolk.

I WANT THAT WOMAN NOW

This is true of sports cars...exotics on the other hand...
![]() 04/22/2014 at 17:00 |

See, I always thought it was this:
High end exotic car = money
therefore, the car attracts women, and by women I mean golddigging whores.
Shallow guy meets shallow girl. That's what makes a divorce lawyer's world go round.
![]() 04/22/2014 at 17:01 |

Dude, I want an exotic, imagine making it into a race car!!
![]() 04/22/2014 at 17:04 |

Yup, I agree with this generally. Though its not surprise that women with brains don't feel like a high end car matters (at least positively)

Small, red, low-powered cars are the way to go unless you're looking for a trophy wife. The original Fiat 500 is commonly said to be the sexiest car for a man to drive.

My wife wants us to buy a Chrysler 300, like what her dad used to drive (he works at their plant). Though I wouldn't mind...

the first time i met my girlfriend she had a negative opinion of me because of the car I drive (Subaru BRZ) I let her finally drive it recently and she said she now completely understands the appeal of a sports car and she wishes she had one herself now.

You nailed it. It isn't a surprise at all. Your car choice isn't always a good indicator of your personality.
Although gold diggers in many cases are not stupid and are rather pretty damn savvy.

There is a small % of wealthy people who buy cool cars and do cool things with them, but its about the same % of logical, well thought out and civil debates on youtube.

I can dig it, a dude in a car like that advertises "aint care" like a billboard.

My wife is after a 911 964 because of her irrational love of german cars.
![]() 04/22/2014 at 17:16 |

Same story here except for her and her family its the love of American Cars, particularly GM and Chrysler.
Since I'm currently looking at getting a 2nd car, I make it a game to look at foreign cars in front of them, mention then, point them out, just to see their response. :)

I read that article and see where they make fun of/imply things when your driving an older car that's a liitle rough. I guess I look at that differently because I see someone driving their project car and it shows commitment. He's willing to put up with a lot of faults and has to go through rough patches but actually enjoys every second of it and really wouldnt trade what he has for anything in the world.

More 'not trying to prove anything', because it's still extremely stylish, just not in any way aggressive or showing off.
![]() 04/22/2014 at 17:33 |

Never seen any particular correlation one way or the other, sorry - best thing a car might do is open up a line of conversation.
![]() 04/22/2014 at 17:42 |

Exactly, my dad taught me the life lesson that caring too much about what other people think about your car is a pointless waste of energy, and that nonchalance towards the car as a symbol of any kind could be a very attractive trait. i.e. be confident with who you are and pay little attention to keeping up appearance and it will be attractive to the types of people you want to attract.

Unless I am buying an Aston Martin, I am not buying it to help me pick up women. If it is an Aston then it is by default.

I would say this is true. 1/5 find him MORE attractive, 2/5 Find him the same, and 2/5 find him less attractive when he rolls up in his shitty beater.

Or I guess it isn't, according the the ladies.

They all say that till that shiny black Aston convertible comes rolling around the corner. then they get a lady boner and become stage five clingers. They will lie about it forever, but they all know its true.
