I find it infuriating that they still use the LFA in their commercials. Fucking tease.

What if.
They purposely do this, so that every time we hear a loud engine roar in an F-Sport Lexus commerical, we immediately assume it's the LFA.
Until that one commercial.
That it's the LFA successor.
BOOM.

Hello there,
I am your resident Lexus representative. These ads are subliminal messaging that the next IS-F will have a V10.
Just kidding, go buy our Avalon based ES and go fuck yourselves.

It's their halo car. They made it to build brand awareness and increase showroom traffic, while highlighting their engineering capabilities.
They built it to try to convince the consumer that Lexus, as a brand, is not only a leader in luxury but also a leader in performance as well.
It's similar to Ford using the GT in a commercial. Not the same, but similar in effect.
The purpose of this type of ad isn't to sell you the car, as when they advertise an IS350. It's to sell you on the brand as a whole. They built this car to play that role in this type of commercial.

LFA's make no sense to me. But this could be because I just watched top gear season 14 episode 7...their price is ridiculous.

So many cars have ridiculous prices. I think it's a fairly brilliant machine, but I also understand if it leaves you cold.

375k for what it is, is quite frankly chump change.

I think he means the car was a loss leader, it never made money. Each one sold was sold at a heavy loss. But it did give them a great marketing tool, something to look like Toyota has attitude or something...

I thought it was kinda dumb that it was at the New York auto show again this year
