And I still don't fully get it. I guess that's what you get when you take a class where the majority of the students are Grad Students and you're a freshman undergrad. Just venting some frustration, have a Zonda and a couple of One-77's
(Also, How do you make the picture of cars not be just a thumbnail when viewing all articles)
I get the majority of the paper, but I have have to present it in intricate detail in front of a class on Monday.
Paper linked at the bottom for all those who dare

Have you considered that the paper might be written extremely poorly?

Front-mount license plate frames are bullshit.

Yeah, and I don't really think it's that. The paper just has a shit tone of jargon, the figures aren't that clear, and I'm not the too experienced at dissecting articles.

When I was in engineering school, back in the Before Time, I was taught that any good paper should be fully understood by an reader educated in the topic from just the figures and equations. The words were just so those less educated could catch up.
If the figures aren't that clear, the paper is bad and perhaps the authors should feel bad.

...agreed. I hate to call out the authors as bad, but some of the work doesn't look too good. Are you familiar with Western Blot or Gel electrophoresis?

Nope. All I know are airplanes and breathing.

Ok, well the ones detailed in the paper aren't the best. You're an aeronautical engineer I assume?

Have you considered the fact the class was made for people with more experience?

I'm going to ask a separate question...how did you end up in a primarily grad student filled class as an undergrad freshman?

Be part of an a select group of students at a research university, and ask the Prof nicely. I got an email describing the class after I took the 101 he teaches which said that it would be a small discussion based class of 10. He also sent the same email out to the grad students, but I didn't know that. I can do the work and do it well, it's just a matter of how stressful this weekend is going to be.

Yeah, but I like challenges.

Fair enough. As a graduate of both undergraduate and graduate school at a research university...grad courses are usually pretty different in concept and delivery, which is why I asked. There were grad equivalent courses I took towards the end of my college career, but nothing I dared dabble with as a freshman.
