I've done a ton of work on my cars but have never touched the brake system because I'm scared I'll mess something up. You sir have all my respect.

What car is this for? Performance upgrade or is it just time to replace them?

Brakes are easy, just make sure you stomp the brake pedal a few times before you start driving to bed the pads, if you don't you will learn that you have no brakes when you need to stop. Brakes are more intimidating than they are hard to do as it is what slows your car down. Take your time and if you have a hard time remembering how things go back together take pictures. Also don't forget to lube any parts that slide aside from the piston cup. Good luck and feel free to be excited.

Brakes are easy, except for drums.

Brakes are actually not that bad. They're simple enough things, and as long as you put what few bits you take apart back together in the right place you'll be fine.
Unless they're drum brakes. Drum brakes are evil bastards concocted by people who assumed that anyone trying to put them back together has 3 arms and enough strength to prise apart a spring that's strong enough to stop a car.
I may be exaggerating a little, but not as much as I'd like.

Super jealous. If I have the $$$ after payday, the first thing I'm going to do is replace the horrible el cheapo brake pads on my car and put the new rotor that's on my dining room table on the car.
My brakes suck right now. :o(

It's for my 2010 Pilot. My wife usually drives it so if I better do a good job!
