If I were getting a refund, I would probably not put it into a computer. New brackets for a supercharger, maybe! Nope, I would put it into our house. Damn.

dat ram.
Where the hell is the video card in this thing? I don't see any water cooling on that little card on that PCI slot

I don't get a refund. In my last job, I'd owe an extra ~$1,000 come tax time. Now I only owe an extra ~$200.

I bought a shitty mustang that has done nothing but give me problems, the computer is a better choice.

Mine was spent on an alignment and new tires. It didn't last long, but was totally necessary.

Replace my cracked tail light and have the bumper repainted

I just have no need for a case that big. My Corsair Air 540 is already more than large enough, since I have all my main storage located on my NAS.
I hope it was a good RAID card like LSI or Areca though. Those shitty ones like Syba aren't worth the plastic their PCBs are printed on.

You make a compelling argument. My desktop hasn't been refreshed since 2010, my laptop is unmodified from 2009. My refund (positive fed, negative state) = ~$600.
OTOH, Ranchero warrior needs bellhousing badly.

Back when I used to get a refund, it's what I used to build my desktop PC. Those were good times.

Hey, you and I are on the same page. I used my refund (all $100) to help buy a new front bumper cover for my Miata. Should be installing it tomorrow.

There should be a law. Tax refunds must be spent on car repairs.

Refund? HA!

It's the thing that says Asus on it right there below the CPU, visible in your post. You'll often see dudes with a real world budget do water CPU/air GPU because you can get a nice little closed-loop CPU kit like this Corsair for $80 but because nothing's standardized in GPU land the blocks alone are fucking $100 and will be worthless if you ever upgrade.

I'm going to throw it towards the purchase of a W124 :D

I got $4700 back from the Fed and $800 from state. I bought an LS1 for my 4runner.

I've already made up my mind that I will go full water cooled.
Just gotta pick a single GPU for it. No more SLI nonsense. A single Quadro too, for dat colour output.
And at school of all places, I came across a LGA2011 board I want to use. Researchers clearly know how to spec their gear.

I paid down credit cards, and also bought new exhaust, hood, headlights/grille/corners and some bits for the 244, and a shift knob and lowering springs for the GTI.
