just seeing if this thing is on.And now that I can see "Publish on Oppositelock" I think I'm all set.
If so - hey - this is my beater. Picture was taken last Sunday on the River Road in Illinois It shares a driveway with my real performance car, a 2009 Hyundai Accent. Bitches love the Accent.
I've had the beater 3 weeks. It was bone stock - now it has a Vararam CAI, SLP LoudMouth II cat-back, and a tune. Now I want to get used to it before doing anything else.
It replaced a '06 Miata. And I miss certain things about that car - the steering/handling mainly because the Miata was so easy to toss around. On the C6 the steering is fine at low speed, but feels heavy at speed. Everything else makes up for it though. I think the only way I could go back to a Miata would be to get one that's LSx powered.

We have similar taste in beater cars. My performance car is an '02 Mk IV Jetta currently in need of a transmission job. All the girls love that Jetta. They also love other girls.

Sadly, the performance car is not a GLI. Just a GTS. A loaded GTS, with a searing 115 HP capable of a blistering 0-60 of 10 seconds.
