Recently, a shop selling a '66 Corvette 427 had a buyer ask if they'd take a trade. The trade in question was a DeLorean with 308 miles that the guy had sitting in a storage locker...

"It sat for so long you couldn't open the gullwing doors since, years ago, the gas had leaked through the tiny seals of the gas struts that assisted them to open," shop owner Mike Vietro said, planning to leave it as he received it.

Curiosity got the best of him, though, so he replaced the fluids and wearable items, gave it a good wash, and is addressing some left-over issues.

The owner bought the Corvette but decided not to sell the DeLorean, keeping it stored in Vietro's shop instead.

There are a surprisingly high number of crazy-low mileage Deloreans out there. A lot of people tucked them away, sure they would be worth a fortune.

They really are time machines. Everytime I look at it, sit in it, or drive it all I can think about is being a kid again. Super soaker wars, nickelodeon, ninja turtles, transformers, batman, and all the old toys I used to have. When I sit in mine any stress I have disappears, everyone has that car that takes them to those memories, mine just happens to be stainless.
