"Today I am pleased to announce that Kinja will be no more.

Gawker Media will be switching to an all new format that is more user friendly and will deliver a better commenting experience. This new format is named Robin.

With Robin, we will be able to do so much more than we could with Kinja. Autoplay ads will now be on every post and each comment will be in a pop-up window that will be blocked by most browsers.

The mobile experience will be further enhanced with no pictures at all being viewable unless you install the new iOS only App.

Animated gifs will also stop as they are both silly and childish. Instead, a new format of .den will be our newest animated image format. They will work by having your printer print out a series of images that you must then cut out and staple together to form a flip book.
