I've accepted my offer to go to Purdue for ME. I've lived in town for over a decade so at least I don't have to memorize new streets... So yeah. I need to get my car finished before I go to school and become broke. /Cool story Bandit

I'm not sure if your decision to continue living in a state that contains Notre Dame is a sign of fortitude or foolishness.

Good choice! Not to mention you will save a ton on living at home.

Now that you're all the guy who does bondo and bondo-like things, don't do bondo in an apartment.

Nope, parents are kicking me out and wanting me to live in a dorm.

Why not? It fills holes doesn't it?

Carpets+sheetrock+confined spaces = bad for bondo dust. Very bad.

Awesome, good luck to you. Part of me still wishes I went to a big ten school. Also to counter For Sweden, Fuck Notre Dame, and thank god you are not going there. Also, seems a bit late in the year for acceptance letters.

I got accepted months ago. I wanted to explore other options and I just never got around to accepting the offer.

what are you going to study to be

Mechanical engineering.

Damn. Maybe Indian families operate differently, but usually the parents keep the kids in the house until the kid buys a house, and the parents move in with them! lololololol
Dorms are expensive(and terrible imo). You get no room and the food sucks! I spent 1/2 of that on apartment(I get my own room and bathroom) with awesome food!

You'll learn an infinite amount about yourself and others living in a dorm. Just don't get busted doing dumb shit.

Lucky bastard. I think housing is twice the cost of my tuition.

Congrats and good luck at Purdue! You drive a screaming chicken and going to a school named after chicken! haha

Yup, you probably spend more on living then you will on studying. If you get a place of campus living is cheap. With 4-roommates(you all get your own room) it is around 300 to 350 a month or around 4 grand a year. And now you know why I don't live in a dorm.
To be fair though, my apartment has paper thin walls and you can feel the weather through them.

At least I don't have to do my own laundry and I have a place to store/work on my car...

Believe me, this is for the best.

Yeah that is pretty nice. I hate looking at my car sitting outside. Plus if I ever want to check anything(like leaks or something) I look like an idiot laying on the ground.

Awesome. Welcome to the clan of engineers.
I'm going to say it now...Thermodynamics suck.
But you'll get through it. Purdue is a good school.
