I got a bike a few days ago :D
It is a (Specialized) Globe Roll 2 SE Raw, of 305 SE Raw's in existence, not sure what number it is of those 305, but it is one of them :) Single speed because.. low maintenance, cheap for a high quality bike, I'm in my mid-20's and live 10 minutes from a college town :P Can set it up as a fixie if I want (flip-flop hub) but ..while being a beast is awesome, I value my life to much, so probably going to keep it as just a single speed.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:35 |
Byciclopnik sounds a little better to me.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:35 |
Oooh, Nice looking bike.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:37 |
Lol, we'll see if it catches on I guess :P
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:38 |
what. the fuck..... is that stain on that moving mat.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:38 |
They had a black one too, but they wanted full price for the black one, a couple hundred dollars off on this one, so I was like...well..alright, then I figured out that this is the SE Raw, thus only 305 were made..so I was like.. I'll accept it!! and now every time I look at it, it grows on me more and more :)
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:38 |
Sweet bike! And nice that it has a flip-flop hub.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:41 |
Errrr...good question, isn't my moving blanket, I know it's been covered in mud, gas, oil, and has been puked on by at least one dog so... your guess is as good as mine.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:42 |
I was definitely looking for one with a flip-flop, would of heavily considered not getting it without one.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:44 |
looks like a shadow, I think.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:54 |
Uneducated me thought this bike was much older than it actually is thanks to its funky paint! Cool as hell though.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:57 |
Yeah, is a pretty retrotastic paint scheme, lol :)
![]() 03/31/2014 at 17:57 |
The frame is definitely painted, not raw. Does the Raw mean something else?
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:04 |
It think it is referring a bit to the paint, hard to see in this photo, but some parts of it are just chrome in the color (is a chromolly frame) , that's the only difference that I know of with the SE Raw too is this funky paint scheme, so maybe because some patches aren't colored or they just called it that because they needed a name, not sure. Hard to find much info on it -.-
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:15 |
pretty similar to my setup, mine's a Specialized Langster Boston. I agree single speed is the way to go. I haven't had a bike with gears in over 15 years and I have never looked back.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:15 |
This is a raw frame, just for reference.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:22 |
Yeah, you can see a bit of that color where the seat stays, seat tube, chain stays and down tube meet up, also in the middle of the top tube and the bottom of the fork, looks like its raw in those spots, but clear coated and polished up, and surrounded by the white, blueish purple and green ish colors, lol
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:31 |
Same parent company so makes sense they'd have some similarities :) and you have no idea, haha, I've ridden MTB's all my life (I'm young but still, all my life) and had rode friends BMX bikes at times, at one point I rode a Walmart single, and I was like..this is awesome, though I know I don't want a Walmart bike, now finally stepped up and bought a single though :) and..realized I've been stupidly riding MTB's around town, when I could have a bike that..doesn't weigh 40 pounds. lol
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:36 |
How about Velopnik? Anyway very cool bike and nice color!
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:46 |
It's a nice looking bike! I'm liking what I see under that blanket in the background also :)
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:54 |
I was wondering how long it'd take someone to point that out, lol, my mums 66' Fastback :)
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:57 |
Maybe, younger people (myself who just looked up what Velo means) might not know what they're clicking though :P they'd figure it out as I just did though, haha, and thank you :)
![]() 03/31/2014 at 18:57 |
Nice, Is it a project, or is it done?
I've got one of these, strange bike. Haha.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 19:02 |
Well, cars are never done ;) but pretty much done, 2nd owners, all original pretty much, the first owner redid the seats once, had it painted once (both in original colors, so just re-done), we have the original wheels for it somewhere, but it has better ones now, has a flow master exhaust, better starter.. err, I think we were looking for a new steering wheel and dash board, and some of the interior arm rest/ door handles because of sun damage and cracking, but it is and has been all its life a driver :)
![]() 03/31/2014 at 19:23 |
Wow! Sounds like a great car. If you ever find yourself in Carsile Pa, for your Beetle also. Make sure to checkout the swap meet! They've got a little of everything, for every car.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 19:25 |
Seems it (I've yet to drive it, probably will here soon), and alright :) Speaakkkinnggg of the Beetle...I now have a need for a bike rack on it, lol, so I need to find one that'll fit it D: oorrrrrr, figure out how they mount to Beetle's and I have some connections that might be able to custom make me on for the price of materials
![]() 03/31/2014 at 19:30 |
Yeah, custom fabricate one! For my A4 it would cost nearly $400 to fix myself up with a bike rack :0
![]() 03/31/2014 at 19:53 |
Might have to looking at prices, lol, isn't THAT expensive for one I'd think for the Beetle (Guessing yours is because..Audi), but for a base alone would be 1-200 hundred, then the bicycle holding parts ontop of that.. probably gonna have to try and see what my connections can put together :)
![]() 03/31/2014 at 20:17 |
Haha, connections are always good. Luckily for me, I've got one at the shop where I get my A4 worked on.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 20:26 |
The shop I get my Beetle worked on is pretty cool, guys aren't assholes like most mechanics, lol, its a VW/Porsche /..other owned by them car company only garage, mosttlyyyy air cooleds though
![]() 03/31/2014 at 20:29 |
Nice, I get mine serviced at a specialty Audi/Vw place. Nice guys there, always honest, which is a good change. The guys at the local Audi dealer don't like me because I notice things that nobody else will notice, a missing screw for instance, Haha.
![]() 03/31/2014 at 20:47 |
Yeah, it's a small shop of only 2 guys..and next door is a performance shop (for American Muscle only :/..but still cool anyway) havn't taken the Z anywhere yet, lol
![]() 03/31/2014 at 20:55 |
Sounds like a nice place! The smaller the staff is, usually the better the experience!
![]() 03/31/2014 at 21:58 |

My Purefix Whiskey
![]() 04/01/2014 at 05:01 |
Makes sense, lol :) I've gone down their several times and been like "hey..i need this part, but can't find any!" and they justs find and give me on, one time one of them had his engine out of his VW Bus, and I needed the connecting screw and sleeve for a heater box cable, so he just pulled one off his Bus and gave it to me, lol
![]() 04/01/2014 at 05:06 |
Just looked it up, seems like a super great deal for the price! Single speeds are so pretty to look at :)
![]() 04/01/2014 at 06:01 |
Wow, Sounds like a great place! If I had done that at my local Audi dealer, they would have made me wait for weeks for a part to come in. Luckily that's what I've got my small Audi service place for. They seem to have everything in stock and they know me by name :)
![]() 04/01/2014 at 11:25 |
It is, lol, I dont think Ill be able to find a place like that for the Z, however I do have friends that can probably work on it.. anddd one of them works at a performance shop locally too I think
![]() 04/01/2014 at 16:29 |
Yeah, connections are always good for car maintenance. Especially helps for those expensive bits.
![]() 04/01/2014 at 17:15 |
Indeed, when I get alot of my parts, probably going to just post on my local car group asking who's labor is worth only a case of beer, then get them to help me with parts, lol :)
![]() 04/01/2014 at 20:28 |
They are, and super smooth, like riding on glass, they have a bunch of new models out too, chromoly, aluminum, etc. Great customer service too!!! Mine got a few dings in shipping, and they went above and beyond to make it right!!
![]() 04/01/2014 at 20:33 |
Nice, mines rock hard, lol, chromoly frame for me, and .. Not sure on custome service, probably a case of shitty service that has to eventually be good because it's a big company (Specialized) but not sure, I guess we'll see if I ever have any issues (frame has a life time warranty on it). That's awesome though, looking up weights mine should be a a few pounds lighter, but other then that, the specs on that thing are awesome. And for a fraction of what I payed. Not to mention that color scheme is pretty bomb too.
![]() 04/01/2014 at 20:34 |
Looking at Globe's sight, the Roll series is meant to be the speedy run about bike, more racy, so might be why its rock hard, also explains the lack of accessory bolts that most bikes have and mine doesn't, lol
![]() 04/01/2014 at 20:38 |
Yea, thats the nice thing about the steel and chromoly, they have more give, which makes for the smoother ride. The Purefix frames are made to where you can pretty much build it into whatever you want, very customizable.
![]() 04/01/2014 at 20:45 |
I think mine is stiff because of the hard plastic seat, lol. And almost all good single speeds are like that now a days :)
![]() 04/01/2014 at 20:59 |
Yea, getcha a new comfy saddle and you'll be ready to rock!!
![]() 04/02/2014 at 06:05 |
Haha, That's a good strategy. I should give that a shot sometime.
![]() 04/02/2014 at 11:06 |
I'm sure aat least 3 or 4 people will offer to help if I do, haha :)
![]() 04/02/2014 at 11:27 |
If I can find a light weight comfy one :P adding more weight to my gear here soon because I want a 2nd lock for when I hit the local college campus. If anyone asks me what single speed to get, I'll probably suggest the Purefix, since its a awesome price for a bike that lightweight with a flip/flop hub. Wonder how much lighter it'd be with a Chromolly frame O.o (reading on their site it sais they use a steel frame atm)..because it weights just slightly more then mine, and mine is a Chromolly. They have a one year warranty it sais, any more then that for the frame? (curious because mine has a year as far as maintenance, but the frame itself has a lifetime warranty)
![]() 04/02/2014 at 21:09 |
Well, the chromoly and aluminum frames are frame only, so you have to build your own. But the Chromoly frame is 30% lighter than the steel. And its also a two bar top tube frame, very cool and retro. They also have glow in the dark frames and wheels!!!
![]() 04/02/2014 at 21:18 |
I saw that, lol, would be usefull for night riding for sure. I bought some clip on lights for mine so I can ride to work at 3 in the morning, lol

I'll keep that in mind, lol :) I didn't even know a headlight was required here, thought it was just reflectors (which my bike doesnt even have, guessing it's a weight thing there as well, lol) so I just got a Bell front and back light :P
![]() 04/03/2014 at 11:22 |
It has wheel reflectors but no front and rear.. lol
![]() 04/03/2014 at 20:58 |
If I did that, all of Audizine would be at my house, Haha.
![]() 04/04/2014 at 03:43 |
Cyclopnik, obviously
![]() 04/04/2014 at 05:02 |
One of the guys just did it (didn't offer beer as payment even, just asked for help with coilovers on his E36) and got 2 people to come help, a 3rd person offered, and he'll be taking it by a 4th persons house to try and figure out the camber arms, lol
![]() 04/04/2014 at 15:53 |
Haha, Nice. I've been looking for somebody who can help me install an exhaust system for a case of beers. Haven't bought a system yet, but got to plan ahead! :)
![]() 04/04/2014 at 16:54 |
I've got a while before exhaust, I wish I could legally straight pipe my cats though, lol
![]() 04/04/2014 at 20:48 |
Haha, the noise "Ordinances" are extremely annoying. If I want my car to sound like a Spaceship, then I should be able to.
![]() 04/04/2014 at 20:51 |
I think I'd be fine noise wise, just emissions though D:
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:02 |
Oh noes. Just try to pass it off as a "Classic Plates" car, Haha.
Here in Va. You don't have to do emissions, I think after 25 years.
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:07 |
Lol, pull the plate off the Beetle and put it on the Z when I drive it? haha :P
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:13 |
Yeah, Haha. The emissions people won't know the difference
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:14 |
Lol, then straight pipe the entire exhaust :D
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:17 |
Haha, everything you couldn't normally get away with, you can get away with now. That also includes a jet engine.
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:20 |
I feel like a straight piped VQ35 would sound insane, lol
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:25 |
Now I want to know what that sounds like. A stainless steel system on the A4 wouldn't sound bad either though :)
![]() 04/04/2014 at 21:28 |
Im youtubing it, haha, found a twin turbo'd one that sounds amazinggg, and straight piped Audi's are always crazy, lol
![]() 04/05/2014 at 06:32 |
That sounds great, Car looks nice with that configuration also.
This one, Sounds like it may eat people. :)
![]() 04/05/2014 at 16:15 |
I like how the film guy in the Z video jumps, haha, I had a buddy who had straight pipes on his E36 for like..a week. It was crazy loud, but a full spec drift car already sticks out enough, so he put a exhuast back on it as to avoid tickets
![]() 04/05/2014 at 17:27 |
Haha, Cars with no exhaust sound surprisingly nice.
When I picked my A4 up from the body shop, they had an A6 with no exhaust at all hooked up, It sounded surprisingly nice.

http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/cars-and-coffe… < speaking of Audi's, go look :D
![]() 04/05/2014 at 21:39 |
Every single car there, I want. Haha.
At the C&C up here in Va, we mainly get exotics, and a little In between.
Everything there, appeals to my car tastes :)
![]() 04/05/2014 at 21:43 |
azqw < Thats what my dog sais apparently..alright, he's off my lap now :) And yeah, it was pretty awesome. The Z looked boring comparatively, haha, Ill have to bring a change of pants every time I go, because I hear that F40 that got hit by a minivan in Denver last year, will be making a return. The owner was there today, in a different Ferrari
![]() 04/05/2014 at 21:49 |
Haha, if my dog jumped on my anything, it would break.
Hope that F40 lives on, there is so much want just in this one picture from C&C this morning
![]() 04/05/2014 at 21:51 |
I don't know how he doesn't brake things as much as he does..granted, he brakes a lot of things, mostly don't know how he doesn't brake himself.. just a 40 pound ball of muscle, energy, energy, muscle, and energy. lol, I'm off to Sonic now for a car meet I guess...my automotive mind is in high gear today, then home to check on Formula D standings :P
![]() 04/05/2014 at 21:51 |
And same, will get photos of it if it makes its return :)
![]() 04/06/2014 at 07:36 |

Nice! Make sure to use a Grade A Potato :)
![]() 04/06/2014 at 10:06 |
My potatos can actually come out good though, haha, as can be scene in my first post from taht show :P (link i sent was a buddys photos with a actual camera) http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/cars-and-coffe…
^ those were my potatos from yesterday :)
![]() 04/06/2014 at 13:03 |
Haha, My Potato isn't half bad. I like me a good picture, but I don't actually own a specialized Camera. I just use my Iphone.
![]() 04/06/2014 at 13:06 |
I have a ..average? digital camera, nothing special, just I never take it anywhere, lol, Android gets used most the time :)
![]() 04/06/2014 at 13:08 |
Oh, Well I do have some Kodak thing with like 3Mp, but my wallet would take better pictures than that thing, Haha
![]() 04/06/2014 at 13:11 |
I've got a sony..thing somewhere, It's a bit better then my android i think
![]() 04/06/2014 at 13:12 |
Hehe, My Kodak is very disappointing, except when it was new.
![]() 04/06/2014 at 13:24 |
Im not a great photographer anyone, I'm not artsy enough :)
![]() 04/06/2014 at 20:20 |
Haha, Same. Whenever I try to be artsy, it ends up looking really strange.
