It's that time again. Opinions on the TSX?
It's the only Acura I currently like, even if it is just a Euro-Accord with a beak nose. But it's only good in $39,000 V6 guise. Which, I'm sorry, is just too much to pay for a glitzed up Accord. If they lopped 10k off that price, I'd be okay with this car. But at that price there's much better you could get.
Driving a 40k Accord...it's that kind of exciting.

Nice car, but Crack Pipe.

It looks like a Parrot Fish, that's about it.
The rest of the styling is OK.
Should be a little cheaper for US market.

I agree with you, you can get much better for the price.
Honestly it's not a bad car, I mean if you can get past the bland. It will make a great used car in a few years.

If I was handed the keys to one, I wouldn't turn it down.

If I was handed the keys to anything, I wouldn't turn it down. Free stuff!!

Are you sure?

Great car, extremely reliable, kind of sporty. I had a little time with one the other day. My sister got a new one for about 30,000 which is less then a fully equipped accord, but much quieter. Hers is the 4 cylinder though.

Buying the 6 cylinder would be a poor investment. The 2.4L manual, however, would be pretty sweet. The Si with an Acura interior, sounds kind of awesome to me. Also, they do offer a wagon (not manual, but nice).

That's a couple hundred in scrap, not to mention a great time beating the life out of it.

The 4-cylinder that came with it made it a good car, but not a great car when it came out.
Then the introduced the bigger engine on it, and I really liked it, but I think it actually ended up costing too much because I don't see a lot of them used.
Then the wagon came out with it and I absolutely fell in love with it.
I felt that if they went one more step and put the V6 into the wagon, they would've had a successful car, but instead they decided to stop at the 4-cylinder wagon and then killed it off.

If I was shopping in the semi-premium sedan category; Buick Regal, Lincoln MKZ, I'd throw it into the mix.

I'll give them credit for bringing over the wagon, but I think the ILX would be more of an Si with an Acura body wrapped around it.

A V6 wagon would've made a great car.

If not the 4-cylinder, they could've at least put in the Turbo-4 from the RDX. I've heard that that engine is amazing, but after they cancelled that specific model, the engine was never used again? At least in those specific specs?

Front drive and 62/38 distribution? And nearly 40k? Yikes. Try Infiniti.

I'd probably try Lexus before Infiniti or Acura.

I thought this was the same as the ILX. Silly Acura, go back to real names so I can tell you apart..

It's the only current Acura I like, and I'd enjoy having one. Honda/Acura V6's are really sweet engines. The TSX is simply overpriced in V6 guise. It's a nice car for sure, but overpriced.

even if they cost $30k, you could get a nice 996 C4S that would maintain its value considerably more than a TSX. and while the 996 would cost more to maintain, you're still talking about a completely different level of performance. (in before headlights, because 95+% of oppo doesn't drive cars and only cares about aesthetics)

It's not...awful...but I'd hold out for the new Chrysler 200 to hit showrooms before dropping $30,000-$40,000 on a car in this range.

Not the greatest purchase new as you can get much more fun cars for the money. But they are great buys used because of the reliability and value.

The TSX isn't a euro accord with a beak.... It's actually the other way around,
Buy a used one. You'll have a hugely reliable and solid car.

The 4 cylinder version isn't bad but definitely not a car I want to drive every day. It's too cramped inside.

I have been saying the same thing.

The first gen TSX will always be awesome. This, not so much.

I want the Acura TL SH-AWD with the V6 good for 305hp and a manual 6 speed. $44k though is a little steep, but it fills a lot of needs no one else will.

I'd like the ILX 2.4. Only comes with a manual because it's a luxo-Si.

drive an accord, then drive the tsx, then tell me how its a "glitzed up Accord". Sorry, the driving expierence is almost completely different. Steering feedback, is on a different league, and the fact the TSX handles as good as it does is is mostly attribuatble to it's front + rear double wishbone suspension. I've owned a Accord Sport, a TSX SE, and a v6 tsx (now a C63 507), and I'm 99% sure you've never driven any of these 3 cars. The TSX drives almost completely different vs. the accord, and interior materials are on a completely different league, as well as it's lighting system, audio system, and pretty much everything else. and the fact that you said "it's only good in $39,000 V6 guise.." Seriously, WTF? Have you driven the K24 tsx and the J35 TSX??? I prefered my high revving 4 banger over the V6 when I had it, and every automotive publication like C&D reccomends the 4cyl over the V6 because of it's superior handling characteristics.

You do understand this is just a European Accord with some different badges and a price markup, right? Thus glitzed up Accord.

2 only cars based on it that are worth it:

Them's were the days
Honda/Acura doesn't have anything that interests me anymore.

I think this is the only car with an Acura badge that interests me. And not by that much.

Price markup? The equivalent TSX with the 2.4 engine starts at 29,385 pounds.. thats equivalent to $49k in dollars. In the US, the 2.4 TSX starts at $31k. Not to mention there are numerous differences between both cars, but yes, the chassis and engine are the same. So in a way it is a "Glitzed up EURO Accord" but not really.
