I just don't get the fizz when I see it, might actually be because I once did a 3D model of the hard top that really drove me to a dark place every time I see the R8 now. I'm rehabilitating, but you can't convince me that there's nothing the R8 can do that the Gallardo can't do better. NOTHING.

I just feel like the Audi's design will stand the test of time a little better than the Lambo. And they're pretty much equal on the performance front. I think the Gallardo is actually better in some places.

Saw that one today. In brown. Belongs to a guy who has two SLS AMGs (one convertible the other one coupe) and an Aston Martin Rapide. Also new S-Class. And those are just his daily drivers. Some people man, some people...

Fun story from my less well informed past. (I <3 the GT now.) Waayyy back when, Ford Canada was sending a, then on-sale, GT on a promotional tour around Canada (or at least Ontario.) and it reached my local Ford dealer. This was very recently after Clarkson had described the foibles of his GT on Top Gear and so (at the time I was bad, bad Eurosnob. I still love me European supercars, but when I discovered Jalopnik my eyes were opened to the awesomeness of the everycar, the hypercar and everything in between.) I started talking about the problems aloud, at the Ford dealer, in front of a sales rep. I got a ton of great pictures (Sadly lost to time.) and learned a lot of neat things, but I don't think I'm allowed back there.

But the one thing I really remember is clapping eyes on the ginormous supercharger clad in that big shiny case. So nice.

Pshh, the Gallardo LP570 is going to go down in history as one of the all time great designs. I don't think the Audi is going to garner as much attention because it's not nearly as dramatic.

Great story! Too bad the pictures got lost. I found Jalopnik while Googling the Ford GT when it was introduced in 2004 in a TV commercial during the Super Bowl. I about fell off my chair when I saw it. I was given a ride in one when my local Ford Store got one in for a customer. I haven't been the same since.

How anonymous the R8 is is actually what attracts me to it. From the front it's just any other Audi if you don't know anything about cars.

I haven't even told you about the girls. The dude is a relatively young property magnate who bootstrapped his own real estate company. From what I've heard (and seen) the guy implemented his own female quota, whereas he hires mostly beautiful women. I live around the corner from his office and the amount of gorgeous women is almost frightening!

The F355 Spider is apparently so gorgeous in person every pro/enthusiast photographer in the world spontaneously forgets how to to take a decent shot so the only usable images of it on GIS are all from used car dealers.

yeah its mine 76' is the year

its pretty sound mechanically the engine has a few leaks and the syncro for second gear is worn out but the body is the worst the driver side rocker panel is rusted quite badly and the the floorboards have a few holes in the driver and passenger side and it needs new paint but other than that its a solid weekend car

Nice! Mines a '76 as well. Just put $6k into the engine and some other essential items so it can actually run. Needs a new paint job and the top leaks ever so slightly. Makes an interesting DD. There's hardly any rust at all (to my knowledge/from what I can see/check) so thats a plus but driving it in the rain hurts :/
