Oooh, Golf R. I want it.

I might buy a new Focus, but it's going to be a commuter. Is the ST worth the extra dough in your opinion? I already have a fun car.

It has been a very good commuter for me the past 6000 miles. Fun, and decent on gas if you drive it correctly. I'd reccomend it if those extra couple grand aren't a deal breaker.

how much is an R these days? like 38k?

Yeah, turbocharged engines are pretty efficient as long as you don't drive them under load often. The extra couple of grand aren't a deal breaker, it just puts it in range of some much nicer cars that I can get used. I'm over-analyzing the decision.
I can't make up my mind yet to be honest, I've been all over the place lately with what I want. I need to put off buying anything for a while I fear, just so I don't make the wrong decision.

How about a lightly used ST? There should be some out there at this point... Maybe?

This one is used with 7k miles. 33 grand. Lowered and APR chipped

I drive a MR2.

It's definitely possible. I haven't really looked at used STs yet, i'll have to do some research.

Dude you better be hitting up Crisp & Juicy for some Peruvian chicken on the regular, man.

To me, it sounds like the Fiesta ST would be the correct car for you. Honestly though, you'd be happy with either.

Total NP, local dealers in TX are offering used Golf Rs for 33

Yeah, that's how I got a Taurus SHO down to my price range. They depreciate very nicely, not sure how well/bad (lol) the ST depreciates.

I grew up in Rockville and almost every time I visit I find my way to Crisp & Juicy.

Similar engine, that's for sure. I'm just afraid that if I end up getting one, I'll end up dumping it down the line because I'll get bored of the drivetrain layout. I've even been considering getting a civic hatch beater, since then the investment is lower, but part of the allure of a new car is the reliability. I need something to drive when my MR2 is in the shop or having work done on it.

Haha, depreciation being a bad thing is all based on perspective.

Can confirm. Had my ST for just over 2k miles and it makes a fantastic commuter car. I notice you've got yellow fogs there? What kind? Or is it a coating?

it's why the word goodbad needs to be in the dictionary. Then you have one word to imply that sometimes bad things are good for some or a lot of people.
In this case it's bad for Ford, but good for ALL car buyers, :P

Thanks for noticing. It's a coating from a company called headlight armor

Nice. remember the price? LOVE the color btw. I was looking for a PB, but ended up getting my Tux Black. I really love the car, and wanna throw some personality into it

I think it was about 20 bucks. Yellow fog lights with the tux black would look killer.

ahh. thats about $13k more than i would spend :)
