Is that a C-17 or a C-7? I remember being at Alpena Michigan during an exercise, sleeping next to the flight-line in the dorms and hearing one of these damn things fire up their reverse thrusters. Jeezus H. That shit is loud.

C-5. They do make a glorious noise. Too bad it's going away with the conversion to the C-5Ms.

Looks to be a C-5. Been up close to one of those and they are maaaaasive.

Ha! I knew it was Oshkosh. About 5 or 6 years ago I was there when it came for the first time and my dad and I befriended one of the rampies, who gave us vests to help bring planes into the show. We ended up being 20-30 feet from the nose wheel as it was dragged to the centre of the square. Fortunately they didn't even ask for our Canadian passports! :D
