So... This got saved to my personal blog somehow? Huh. Anyways here it is!
Top 'o the mornin' oppo,
Been a reader for a while, figured I would go ahead and start on commenting more regularly, so, quick hi. I'm an MR2 guy, bordering on fanatic, and have driven them since I was 17, my current one, Jenna, just got a shiny new Gen4 Turbo motor over the past 2 weeks, and I get to go pick her up in a few days (My work schedule, and access to tools prevented me from doing it myself). Here's an older picture from when I went to Tail of the Dragon.
The house is Chilowee Mountain Retreat, I HIGHLY recommend it if you are in the area.
I move around a bit for work, and recently found out that I will be going to Spain for a few years, and will be leaving sometime next year, before I go I want to try and make it to Virginia International Raceway, and do either an 1/8 or 1/4 mile dragstrip. The MR2 will be coming with me to Spain, and I will be going to the 'Ring. This is my second MR2, my first, a '91 N/A, was sold while I was in college, and I regretted that decision until I bought this pristine 93 Turbo with 74k miles on it (Currently sits at 99k) 2 years ago as a daily driver. As of right now, the only thing she really needs are new seats, new suspension, and a good detailing. The current mods to the car are a 7" pioneer with backup camera and bluetooth, LED dome, trunk, and gauges, Gen4 engine, intake, exhaust, and heated leather. Here is a closer look:
Soon to come, I'm getting rid of the R/C car antenna (Already have a solid winglet on the way), adding some sound deadening, and adding Velcro to the underside of the trunklid, trunk walls, and rear firewall (Behind the seats) for easy, quick access storage, that will blend seamlessly with the car if nothing is stored on there. I'll also be doing a mild wiretuck, cleaning and powdercoating a few things in the engine bay, and just generally making things look cleaner. I'll also be shaving the trunklid of emblems, and possibly replacing the front Toyota symbol with the JDM MR2 eagle logo.
A little about me, I'm 23, married, and love to tinker. I've got a garage full of tools, a head full of ideas, and an amazon prime account, none of which help my bank account. I've tinkered with just about everything, I run Linux on my laptop, XBMC on a Win7 desktop, and I got OSX Mavericks running on a 1st gen Mac Pro, I've even put wireless charging in a Galaxy Nexus. I use what I have to teach myself how to do new things and dive into projects without looking back. I'm currently wanting to learn how to speak spanish, weld, paint, sew, and brew beer, all of which will take a while. I work a weird schedule, rotating between days and nights every two weeks, which means I'm up literally all hours of the night, eat a lot of bad food, drink way too much, and make most doctors cringe when they see my blood pressure. I cool down by tinkering and building, I love working with wood, and have built everything from a workbench, to rebuilding the upper story of a house. I also love to run, camp, hike, and generally enjoy the outdoors, either in a car, on a bike, or on the water.
