Wow, this one was really well done, with a clever sliding mechanism. Should I do this mod to my new Taco soon, or is an iPad in the car too much of a distraction?

Damn, that's cool. I'm trying to commit to KISS for my Tacoma, though.

I feel you, but this mod looks amazing, except for the tacky LEDs IMO. If he found a way to diffuse the LEDs (ŕ la Dodge Durango taillights), it would look much better.

I agree, not a fan of the LEDs. I really think it's a great idea, especially if it's the cellular network equipped iPad. What year is your truck? Color? etc?

It's a Silver Sky Metallic base 2014 AC, 4x4, 5MT. No options on it whatsoever, so a few tasteful mods will be in order.

Sounds like a real nice truck! You won't be disappointed, I love mine. What mods are you planning on doing?

Yes I may go the MT route if I do. I currently don't see the need for a lift, but time will tell. Your list reminded me that I may need some proper skids, a CB, and I might even do the plate bumpers if I go MT. And yeah, I can't blame you for the switches, they're beautiful. I was originally going to go for the quirky switches that you find on OTRATTW, but then I saw those :)

Personally, I think a lift is optional, until you figure out what you'll be using your truck for and how much capability you'll actually need. I wheeled the truck on my stock suspension on trails that really tested them (and myself). I even clipped a big ass rock with one of the rear shocks, but still they still kept going. I still don't think I'm a hardcore wheeler, but I decided to overhaul everything because of my off-road needs as well as the drive back and forth from TX to CO twice a year I take. The load range E tires were hell on my back on stock parts, even being young as I am.

OTRATTW (that's a mouthful) has some nice switches, but everyone uses them and I like to be different, haha.

I already knew when going for the Tacoma it would be a money pit, but I certainly was not prepared for the impact to my bank account.
