!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Ironically, Subaru is perhaps the most gay friendly auto manufacturer in the business. So, I don't know what he's doing gay bashing other brands, the little homophobic prick.

He's 23 and he drives a 1993 Impreza.
Fuckin' poser is doing us Subaru gearheads a bad image. JUDGMENT.

So true.
I love cars but I hate that most of the younger side of the community is made up of these idiotic, small-minded, sexist, homophobic assholes who do nothing but reblog car memes with bad grammar.
Morons. All of them. I hate their guts.

Also, this is the hardest game of "spot the difference" I've ever played.

Just like in the 60's where you had those god awful teenagers with their muscle cars and rebellion.
Haha.

There's a ton of people like this at my school. They sit in the parking lot after school events and rev their civics. One good 5000 rpm blow from my dad's Silverado shut them up reeaall fast.

To the general public that casually racist term doesn't really mean much. To them he's just your typical asshole car guy.

...shit, that is racist, I never really thought about it and now I'm pretty embarrassed. Thanks for pointing it out, it was always just what they (non-German imports) were called. That was the absolute least of the questionable terms slung around by the car people I grew up with, but still. Just when you thought you've shaken all vestiges of your white trash upbringing in college and the professional world... this is why we can't have nice things :[

It's not racist.

Yes it is.

Exactly how is it racist? It refers to cheap economy cars, typically but not exclusively Japanese, which are visually modified in poor taste to look like Hotwheels.

There's no denying the word's roots and its use as slur.
It's like hearing people defend their use of the word "nigga'" as a general term to describe someone who is ignorant. Your definition is not definitive. Some people take offense to it.

Some people take offence to everything . That doesn't make everything derogatory.

It isn't my place to tell a person what should or shouldn't offend them. "Ricer" in its inception was racially charged. And it still can be.
Look, I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't say. If someone tells me that something offends them I have no issue altering my vocabulary, respecting their boundaries. I crack open a thesaurus and find alternatives if I have to (or ask). It's not a big deal to me.
People come from varied backgrounds and what something means to me can mean something entirely different to someone else. So, I try to be empathetic, respectful, because why not? What could it hurt?

I'm not so sure that "most" are that way... At least, I seem to have found the good ones to chill with. Between my non-Oppo car friends, myself (at a young-at-heart 24), and the young Opponauts I've met (Velocity-Silky Smooth Six and Godspeed11, as examples) are pretty laid-back, relaxed, respectful folks.
Of course, I'm also one of those kids who has the windows down and the loud music playing... Er, loud NPR...
