Today had to be the best day for Cars and Coffee this year, and one of the best I've ever attended! We had a huge variety including a group of classic American cars and a trio of Gold Rush Rally cars. Enjoy the gallery below!

If you mean the Eleanor, then no. The guy owns the Rolls and the Shelby.

Oops............this is in the wrong place. Sorry about that. Either Kinja did it or I screwed up, and it was probably the latter.

What's the story with the license plate on the 911? Looks like a vinyl or something.

Yup. It's a sticker so you don't have to drill into the bumper. It's also smaller than a normal plate.

I thought it seemed a little smaller too. I'm guessing it's a real thing and legal?

As far as I know it's illegal. Worth it if it means not drilling holes into the bumper.

Yes, the vinyl plates are "illegal." The grey are comes to how the car is registered. A show/display, historic, or other various range of similar insurance usually exempts the car from full inspections and other dmv laws. Some people (ive spoken to at least) say that in states that require both front and rear plates its a convenience because cops leave you alone. Here in jersey, when youre missing a visible front plate, its a hassle. Throwing a sticker of your plate on the front gives one less reason for a cop to give you a hard time.

A guy somewhat locally around me who has an ultima gtr, and has a similar thing on his, though he wasnt very talkative about it. Mostly some of the viper owners ive met that have their cars registered as collector vehicles do this because the triangle registration sticker isnt always obvious enough.

I believe in Oregon it's "Front and rear plates on all vehicles, no exceptions." Which sucks.
