You're right about both, the 6 series is an S-coupe competitor but it doesn't look good.

Lets hope they do a better job..the early 90's were a worthy successor to the 633-635's this would not represent a good direction. The rear overhang appears too short and the roofline very short as well.

The hype is gone for me. When the CLS, 6 GC and A7 first got together (like the first year they were all together) I freaking loved that shape of a car and now only the A7 is still pretty good looking for me.

I just too everything straight from a 7 series. All I did was shorten the wheelbase and mess with the door, roof, and windows.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Gran Lusso concept they came out with last year.

It has presence , something that's essential in this segment. I think a partnership with Pininfarina could do quite a bit to improve BMW styling, of which I have not been a huge fan recently.
I like the interior too -
