A new report says that Schumi has lost 25% of his body weight (20 kilos) since being in his induced coma.
I know today is a tough day for me, thinking back about losing Senna and now this news about Michael (who won the race in San Marino where Senna passed)

It isn't that strange for an athlete in a coma to lose that much weight, is it? I presume it's mostly muscle mass.

His muscles have atrophied a lot. If/when he wakes up, it's going to be a long road to recovery.

He's done folks. Nobody wakes up after this long and even slightly resembles the individual they were before. I'd love for him to prove me wrong but it's just not going to happen.

My sentiments exactly. I would love to be wrong but the chances of a recovery to somebody we recognize are probably very slim.

My grandmother passed away 2 years ago of a similar brain trauma. It took 8 months in the hospital- multiple induced comas and after a few brief recoveries and subsequent seizures, her brain just couldn't take it anymore.
I agree that as much as I'd love for science and medicene to prove me wrong again, I don't see much hope for him
