I couldn't get past this part:
"The quiet is shattered. An awful din roars into life. V10 engine technology from a bygone era splits the air, its caterwaul bark destroying the calm."
Awful din?
I think he meant AWESOME din

I think he means its noise due to when its being run rather than a criticism of the V10 itself. A sentiment mirrored by many journalists who think a 7 am wake up call for the city in the form of a wailing V10 isn't going to gain many kudos.

That's logical. I understand what he means.
But I still love V10s to much ever think badly of them :)
