I took my girlfriend's white 97 celica gt out for a spin one time with the top down. I have never felt like such a chick and I loved every minute. That car was surprisingly fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the convertible part.

Some days in the Boxster I totally don't give a fuck that everyone can see me because Porsche and Driving Experience and YEAH. Other days I'm really self conscious and just kind of sit with my hands on my lap at stoplights trying not to catch anyone's eyes. It's a mixed bag.

Convertible on the Pacific Coast Highway (California, United States) = a damn good day.

My cah when I was in California:

(It's certainly no Abarth or Miata, but it handled alright. The overall experience of the thing was transcendental on the right day. The new v6 is quite a hoot.)

Just ask around. They nearly always take the hardtop over the roadster/convertible

Oh I get a vibe that the hardtop is superior for racing (a lot of race clubs will require a hard top for safety)... but I definitely don't get the vibe that Oppo doesn't like the Miata without a hardtop.

They look best with a cage and no roof at all. The hard top hardly improves rigidity anyway. It just latches on where the cloth top latch points are.

Not. Appx 1/3 MSTP right now for 2004-2006 MY, 1/2 MSRP for 2006-2008 MY, and appx 2/3 MSRP for 2009. If you change the color of a lightbulb, it's no longer 'pristine 100% factory original' and nobody wants it. I have rearranged almost the entire engine bay, replaced most the lights, modified half the interior, and made the exhaust 'too loud.' So my car is basically worthless, even if it is the fastest stock block XLR in the world (with 2 LSR Records to prove it). Luckily, I'll never sell it.
