!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . However, the danger of Europe dragging down the final result of global automakers has not passed, as Sergio Marchionne said himself. And as you can see in the attached PDF file, 4 out the top 5 growing brands, are Japanese. The hero of the American market, Ford is isn't even in the top ten, as I suspect Europeans are waiting for the next Mustang, Fusion and Edge. And the FCA brand with the biggest growth is Jeep, with a tiny 10.9%. as again I suspect that most EU Jeep buyers, are waiting for the new Cherokee and Renegade.

See Europe? Wasn't that hard, was it? Now you just need to beat the crap out of other nations to deliver freedom, and one day you can be like America.

We have people here waiting for it as well, but mostly we don't. Now don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a Mustang, but I'll rather have a MX-5, much cheaper and the same amount of fun. :) American cars just don't "fit" in Europe anymore (well, the Dart might).

Is not going to be a lot bigger than an A5, if you don't live in Rome, that won't be a problem.

It's not the size, it's the price :)

I doubt the Mustang, Fusion/Mondeo and Edge will bring Ford all that much growth, honestly. The Mustang's too niche, the Mondeo's in what is essentially a dead segment - though the estate version might shift a few units - and the crossover market still isn't all that big in Europe. The Fiesta, Focus and Transit are all doing well, and will almost certainly continue to perform - as two of them, at least, have for around forty years - but that's about it.

(Edit for Edginess.)

Agreed. The Mustang will be a tiny niche vehicle. It'll be more common than previous generation Mustangs, but being more common than a very rare car isn't such an achievement.

The Fusion (as in; Mondeo) will sell, but less than its predecessors as the market segment of non-luxury cars that size is shrinking overall. The Edge, well, I had to look that one up as I didn't know what it was. No one is waiting for that thing here. No one. It's too big for a non-luxury vehicle.

Yes, the Mondeo is going nowhere and the three year delay to get the new model won't help much. The Mustang will be a niche model and won't sell for more than a couple of years if other coupés are anything to go by. The Escape is too big to sell with a Ford badge.
