as long as I get a hard top for it. I'm not against that.

Hard top options are required in some places for racing. She's just making sure you're eligible to compete.

My daughter wants a Miata, but only with a hardtop.

I like that idea, but I doubt that is it. She says they just look less "girly" with hard tops.
Yes, I think if I buy a Miata, my wife will be questioning my manliness.

I would honestly like to do the hard top/coupe conversion. But it looks like a lot of work. And I'm lazy.

I wish they had sold a coupe version. I'm all about structurally rigidity, though. (I know, I'm weird.) Case in point: one of my very favorite cars of all time:

Just buy the removable hardtop, remove the soft top completely, and bolt in the hardtop using the same latch-removal plates spec-Miata racers use.

Take her to one Auto-X and your manliness will no longer be in question.

Just buy the hardtop and bolt it onto the car. You can go the extra step of removing the soft top, or just leave it in there for the next owner. There are plenty of used NA hardtops floating around out there for you to grab up. Even better, buy a car that already has a hard top (not that uncommon) and save even more!

I was just looking for an image and was about to grab that one. It so damn sexy.

It's as easy as buying a fastback conversion kit.

They do make Fastback conversion kits

It's beautiful. I was almost inclined to respond with this one... due to Jeff's M Coupe preference...
Then came to my senses.

Needs to be fastback hardtop.

If only they weren't made just for Japan...

You're definitely not alone. I am not a fan of convertible cars, I will do anything in my power to avoid owning one. T-Tops are bad enough, I don't need a cloth top.

Yeah I realized there is another big one I prefer in coupe form:
When was the last time a car was sold with T-Tops?

Cayman>Boxter, end of discussion.
Hrm, that's a good question. I know the MR2 had its last year with T-Tops in 95, but if I had to guess I'd probably say it was the 2002 Camaro/Firebird that were the last cars sold with T-Tops, so more than 10 years ago.

You will not regret it, even though it inflates the price by $1k.

I like your woman.
My Piñata requirements are a rollbar and a hardtop. Because trackday and sunburn, bro.

Is that the Bud Cort edition?
