The really shouldn't have stopped. My local departments actually started phasing out P71 cruisers for Chargers as soon as the Charger came out. By the time that St. Thomas shut down, more than half of the Chargers had been Re-Replaced with P71 interceptors.

The CV outlived its time. even if Ford had updated it they would have lost the market to the newer, more efficient modern cars. It's better to go out on top than to slowly slip into irrelevance.
