This is unacceptable. The PO bondoed over rust without taking care of it thus I have to replace the panel. I didn't want to do this! I don't have a mig welder nor do I know how. Damn. Damndamndamndamndamn. I haven't even looked at the other side yet.

Step back off of the ledge! This is not nearly as bad as it could be. That can be cut out and fixed pretty easily.

Hmmm, I've found that to be relatively common.
I would strongly recommend getting a mig welder and learning. It's really rather simple, and you can save a lot of money in the long run. Tin sheet is cheap.
Plus, it's fun :)

That sux, but so often it is the way with older cars.
Save money, buy welder and then it is learning time
