The place I buy my shaving stuff from no longer sell Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream. I don't know if anyone else here actually use a straight razor, but if there is I could use some help, I'm almost out of shaving cream. I can no longer get anything from ToOBS, but I can get stuff from Truefitt & Hill, Crabtree & Evelyn West and Mr. Natty (and some others). I REALLY liked the Sandalwood and the Lemon/Lime Shaving Cream from ToOBS, so anything similar to that would be nice.
Have a Cord L-29 with some Woodlights for your troubles..
Edit: is the picture Really large on the Oppo "fp" or is that just me? If it just not me, how on earth did I manage to make it that big?

just buy it on amazon...
I'm not even sure how you maintain your straight razor habits without the internet.
There certainly arent any shave shops where I live, so I get all my stuff from the interweb gods

Sephora owns a sub-brand of stores called The Art of Shaving . I've never been in one but it sounds like they might have some stuff you need.

It's on Amazon, depending what kind you use

I usually order from the interwebs, but from a Norwegian shop (due to taxes and stuff) And they no longer sell ToOBS.

I buy my sandalwood ToOBS soap on Amazon, as people have suggested. Art of Shaving makes decent stuff, the sandalwood scent is good, but it's overpriced here. Can't really help you out all the way across the pond there. But I do love that sandalwood.

Sandalwood is just.. well.. it's just great, I combine that with a bay rum aftershave, and all the ladies are just... Wait, that's not what this was about. I'm having a look at the stuff Sephora's selling right now, looks good. Thanks.

Can you do soap in a mug? Williams shaving soap is kind of lemony.
Plus you can pretend it's somehow related to F1.

No problem. I think I'd prefer a brick & mortar store for this type of stuff too, but it's hard to beat amazon for convenience - especially with free 2-day shipping :P

Soap in a mug would work. Thanks :)

Hehe.. I guess the only places that have shops who cater for shaving geeks like me would be Williamsburg, London and Stockholm :P

Nah, I'll be honest. I only shave every week or two because if I don't, I look 15 and everyone thinks I'm my daughter's boyfriend.
I can't imagine shaving every day.

Actually Sephora had this cool sampler kit that was pretty fun. My wife (frequenter of Sephoras) bought it for me last year on my birthday. Nothing too crazy though.
Gotta try that Bay Rum. I hear good things.

Bay rum (and sandalwood as well really) is a very "safe" scent, smells comforting, or so I've been told.

Well, I do feel pretty comfortable when I have a nice sandalwood lather brushed onto my face...

Oh yes. One of the reasons I love using a straight razor is that it takes longer, I can relax and not think about anything else.

Hehe, I'm 33 and I have to show ID everytime I buy beer (you have to be 18 to buy beer in Norway). I can grow a moustache or a goatee, but I can't grow a proper beard, so I must shave every other day.

I don't use a straight razor, just a double-edged, but the process is similar. I love shaving, now that I don't cut myself all the time with multi-bladed razors or burn my face with electrics. It's very relaxing. Of course, right now I have a bunch of face-hairs because I've been too busy to take the time to shave...

I have a few double-edged myself, I use them if I'm in a hurry, and they are much better then these 16 blade vibrating ultra hyper subsonic mach 78 thingys.. and they are faster as well.

It's true. I would like to move on to straight, but feel like I should wait until I can invest in some really nice equipment first. DE is dirt cheap, even for really good stuff. I use Voskhod blades and even though it's tough to get them in the States, it's still about a billion times cheaper than anything Gillette makes.

Feather have some quite cheap ones, they are straight razors with disposable blades, that's what I use most of the time. Pretty cheap stuff, one blade last for 4-12 shaves depending on your beard.
Edit: here's a link linkylink , I have the DX folding and the DX japanese, they both work great. Pro guard blade is awesome for first timers, thhey have a protective grid on them.

Proraso sandalwood from amazon? Btw have you tried searching for your cream on amazon?
![]() 03/19/2014 at 15:58 |

J have, but I prefer shopping from a shop located in my own country, hence why I asked about the ones I asked about :) They do have Proraso though, perhaps I should try that one :)

I get mine at classicshaving.com. Prefer to support the small places and they still get it to you in 2 days and their prices are sometimes cheaper than amazon.
