Winter has been gone for a while here in Germany, it's been mild for a bit, but only recently have morning temperatures stayed consistently above freezing. So now is the time to get rid of the winter tires and install summers.
After my son and wife went to sleep tonight I drove to the nearest car wash and pulled the ugly steelies and installed my (new to me) Speedlines. They are shod with Fulda mix season sport tires in 195/50-15 size, which is actually quite wide for this car, a Peugeot 205 CTI. I bought the wheels and tires with lots of tread left for 100 Euro, a steal and while the wheels need some work done, they will do for now. I have a friend who refurbishes wheels as a side job and when he returns from a business trip in a month he will be doing these for me. I might also be getting some summer-only tires from Tire Rack.
So, without further ado, here is the before and after:
Steelies
Speedlines
Picture shows the wheels need some work, there is an older layer of red paint (who does this?) and two layers of silver, and some minor curb rash. My buddy will strip the paint, fix the rash and repaint them, perhaps a darker shade of silver.

100 Euros for worn Speedlines with good tires? That is a steal. I got my similarly worn Speedlines without tires for €60, and even that was a steal.
They do look good under a 205. I haven't seen a wheel I like better on that car.
