I actually read through the entire ad before looking at the price, impressed but getting ready to CP and then... wow, not what I was expecting. Normally I'd be all "someone else's project no thanks" + its still a 19 year old BMW with 160K on the clock, but reading through everything that had been done, and the fact that it was done using OEM parts by BMW, and it all works like it came from the factory, it's clear this isn't your typical E34 wagon. Let's just say that if I had the disposable income to play around with something like this, as long as everything checks out I'd be on a flight to Denver right now.

Nice price.

It looks great, and clearly taken care of. But for that money you could get an e39 m5, e46 m3, and a long list of impressive cars that will hold re-sale value a lot better.

Doubt what? That its been taken care of or that you could find something else that hasn't been as molested?

NP(——-IO——) its CP. BARELY. its obviously well cared for and if everything is done as he says, ur basically paying for a m5 wagon

the hold resale part.... this car is well documented and built up OEM-parts satus. I doubt that compared to E46 M3s, E39 M5s and other "normal BMWs" of this price point it will not hold value as well

Very good point. It's just a lot of people are skeptical about buying multiple owner engine swapped cars. Where as most stock, well kept M cars go back up in price after 20ish years.

I could go either way. Everything appears to have been done with extreme care, but 15k?

The car seems nice but I always have a hard time understanding those ads where the seller claims to have spent 24k$ less than 2 000 miles ago, only to sell the car for 15k$. Is he a charity?

Also, the leather seems a bit tired, which I find inconsistent with the level of detail the ad claims, just like the exhaust outlet, and the subwoofers are a bit tacky (in addition to ruining cargo capability).

Apart from that it seems clean and is rare and apparently well built. But it's still a 160+ thousand miles swapped 19 years old BMW for 15 000$. It's only worth that price to a very little number of buyers, and that has to be taken into account when anticipating depreciation.

If you're looking for a V8 manual E34 wagon then NP. Otherwise, it's a bit expensive.

Since he phrases it "Total labor involved is well over 60 hrs @ $130/hr. ($7800+)", I'm willing to bet it's either he or a buddy that's the BMW tech and he didn't actually pay shop rates. And for some people, it's more about the project than the end result.
