Two words, track day.
I actually ended up averaging 9.1 MPG over 15 gallons

Those are Lamborghini numbers. Was this a recent track day?

Nice! I took the average for a few runs of auto-x and got around 4...

This was earlier today

hmm, I've never checked my fuel economy at an autocross, but I guess that makes sense. Same RPMs as a road course but lower speeds.

There's people drag racing with FI still getting 20MPG. You make no sense.

I am not drag racing, this was on a road course with an N/A FR-S. I had a BRZ with me same track/same pace and he was also in the mid 9's

What car? FR-S?

FR-S at a track day, final score was around 9.1mpg average over 15 gallons.

Mind blown at the fact a 4 banger small *lighter than average car* car got this kind of mileage.

Well I can usually get between 22 and 30 on the street (with little to no highway). The track I was on had long straights, and with my grippy tires I was pretty much able to be full throttle anytime I was not on the brakes.
Another 86 owner here on oppo (48 Spoons) claims around 4 mpg at autocross events.
