Totally stock e46 323i or 325i. M3 badge. Not sure if the owner thinks this is cool or funny.

If they were trying to be funny I think they'd go with an M6 badge or something.

Lame and wack.
Like wearing a fake Rolex.

Better still - Flip the M upside down and turn a bunch of BMW 3's areound to make it say WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I'm about 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% sure he thinks hes cool.
how many people that don't know cars (or for that matter just don't know BMW's) do you think he's tricked?
A lot of them

At least a fake Rolex looks a bit like a real Rolex.

True.

I'd take a good fake Rolex over a real one - servicing a Rolex movement is ridiculously expensive.

How about just another watch, that's not a pain, and also not a fake?
The only fake watch I'd ever consider owning is an A. Lange & Sohne.
My dad is A(lvin) Lange, and I have four brothers. And they can be a bit pricey...
They want $357k for this one:

That's a gorgeous movement. Fortunately watches like that are off my radar. Honestly I'd be willing to pay the price for an IWC or Omega if I saw something I liked enough (dat Portofino), but that's be years from now.

I haven't worn a watch for years, and as much as I appreciate the beautiful designs and craftsmanship, I don't think I could bring myself to spent the kind of money a nice one demands.
Like you said, maybe years from now I'll feel differently.

Was it a 4 door? That would be even funnier.

I can't remember, but assuming it was.

That is so weak I don't even have words. I see this all the time with ///M and AMG's... Us car guys always know the truth and the rest of the world probably doesn't care. SO LAME.

Most people that don't know cars wouldn't even know what an M3 is, so he's really only impressing a very small group of people :P

I'll say partially fair point.
I think a lot of people think they know cars and would go "WHOA AN M3 BRO"

Any time I mention my GTI people almost invariably respond with "oh man I love those" followed by "is it a diesel?"And me trying to make a 1.8 liter engine sound cool. I'd guess the same applies to the M3, where people might get that it's an unusual 3 series, but really have no idea why.
