So none of this is ground breaking stuff, but it is still neat and I think it is a great thing to share with folks that aren't gear-heads but want to know what is happening under the hood. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Too many words.
1) Suck
2) Squeeze
3) Bang
4) Blow
Repeat :)

Is the distributor spinning the wrong way in the 6th Gif?
These are pretty awesome BTW.

I'm not sure about that distributer thing

I thought they spun clockwise, I may be wrong.

I'm not mechanically inclined enough to know one way or the other.

They spin either way. Examples:
Ford Windsor, anti-clockwise
Ford flathead, clockwise
Chevy/Buick, clockwise
some GM marine, anti-clockwise
Olds/Pontiac, anti-clockwise
Mopar A, clockwise
Mopar B/RB, anti-clockwise
BMW M30, clockwise
There's really no rhyme or reason. I knew some of these, but assumed it was consistent across marques - clearly that isn't the case.

Thanks for the clarification. I think the only ones I knew were clockwise. BMW, flathead, and Chevy. Learn something new everyday.

Like engine rotation, there’s some general consis te ncy , but no absolute rule.
