!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! doesn't start for the simple reason that it's been underwater. Engine and electronics are most likely kaput . But it's salvageable as a parts car, possibly rebuildable, and at the very least, a very pretty lawn ornament. Is $50K a nice price, or no?

I could buy a new Ferrari instead, but I like supporting local small businesses, such as the local Italian auto shop, so NP.

30k and I'd seriously consider just to leave this on the driveway for the neighbors to be amazed by it.

I wonder how long it'd take them to notice it doesn't move.

Or I'd swap in a Camry drivetrain for the lulz.

You could pop it into neutral and push it around the driveway when the neighbors aren't looking.

See Maserati two posts above its cheaper and prettier. Might not be a V12 but it runs and it still an Italian. So therefore this to me anyways is CP

And then when they discover me, I'll just go like, for the matter of national security, I will now have to kill you.

Woof, 50k is pretty steep for a drowned car, even if it is a Ferrari. You could probably make that back parting it out, maybe even make some money. Still I'm going to go CP because that's a lot of electronics that are/will need to be replaced or at the very least seriously serviced.

Meh. Put a dehumidifier in it, and then vacuum. NP.

Heck, I'd be tempted to drain the fluids and put it in my living room as a piece of art/furniture. I'm not married, so such things are actually open to consideration.

CP all the way. "It's really nice looking but it smells like my grandma's basement."

I can see it now...

Jagvar, relaxing in his living room after a hard day at work, caressed in the soft, supple Italian leather, sipping on scotch, all under the supervision of Uncle Buck.

The living room would be nice, but the garage might be a possibility.

I took an automotive electrical course last year, and the teacher was the head of the auto tech department. One day, he was talking about how underrated flood-damaged vehicles are. Apparently the water shouldn't be a nail in the coffin if the electrical system is/was in good shape. In his view, running a dehumidifier in and around the car for a few days plus a good vacuuming ought to bring it close to being driveable again.

Other tweaks might be necessary, but he pointed to the number of flood-damaged vehicles for sale all over the country in the wake of hurricane Sandy. Apparently there's some money to be made in that biz.

Whether any of this is really true of not, I don't know. But it definitely made my ears perk up when I heard it.

Interesting you should mention ol' buck. I just noticed two small cracks in his neck the other day. I'm no taxidermist, but I'm hoping that his head isn't fixing to fall off.

Given suspension and brakes etc are OK, and the interior is fixeable with a little work, I'd put in an LS. Wouldn't be a bad car with an LS under there.

LS swap.
