And I ain't even mad. Why?
Because my dad said he wants to have the car dyno'd before and after. The place that dynos it will install it, and while that might not be as fun, it will be awesome to see the power gains and such. I think we're doing all this Monday.

Are you going to heat wrap them? Or is that ceramic on them?

Works, it's still getting done.

Uhh no I don't think I am. And no that's not ceramic anywhere that I know of. Why, should I? I've heard it's just fancy bullshit.

I was just wondering, because in my case with Subaru, aftermarket headers throw codes like no tomorrow unless it has heat coating/wrap. Toyotas probably aren't as picky though.

Ohhhhhhh no this thing is going to throw codes out of its ass because Lexus. You have to have an o2 simulator in order not to throw codes. The shop that's installing them though says "Oh we know how to fix it so no codes will be thrown." I'm not sure I trust whatever they'll do unless it's install an O2 Sim, lol. But I'll see.

Nice, you will love the car with the headers it will make it sound orgasmic!!

Cool :) that's the way to do it. That way you can see exactly where it's gaining and losing power.
Be sure to post the results :)

Yeah, from my exhaust (completely catless, nothing but muffler which I believe is like yours) the only way was with the sim. Even with that, it would throw a code about once ever 5-7000 miles. I would just run torque on my phone and clear it until the next 7k miles comes around. So worth it to not have the drone of a catted system. I am now fully experiencing that with my current build. Darn you emissions testing in my new state!!! Listen to their ideas and if it sounds sketchy, I'd just decline and install the sim myself later so they won't charge you the hours they use to ultimately reach a dead end.

I'll have to see about putting in the downpipe that came with it or not. Sure it might drone with the cats, but I would like the added low end torque for my butt dyno to be happier.

True, true. I like a torquier* engine too. That's why I drive a Miata with a built engine now? haha anyway, if your system has cats it may not even throw a code. Good luck to you sir! Post a video if you get the chance. Biggest mistake I made was not making/keeping a video of my setup. Many mourned when I sold the car to non-car people (good friends of mine) with that exhaust on there. (super rare mazzuri header from when the car was supercharged)

Yours had a Mazzuri header and was supercharged?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! Why didn't you sell it to me!!!

haha I built the supercharger setup, had it on for a year, then sold it in 2009. The four years after that the car was just IHE. Sold the car almost a year ago and had the cash in hand in less than 3 hours on the market. I have a reputation for meticulously taking care of my cars so many of my friends were scrounging for the cash the second they heard about it. Never even had to post it. By the time I found a buyer online, or took of the exhaust and found a stock system, I would've lost money. The car's insured if you want to go steal the headers off of it. They won't miss it hahaha
btw. My avatar is a stick with all 3rd gears because of the IS300's "legendary 3rd gear pull" ;)
