So, I have seen more and more of the new "refreshed" 2014 Camaro, and I must say, I like the overall treatment, plus !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but those new rear lights - they look so CHEAP!!! I feel those new bar type lights look like an economy car, where the 2013 and below "squircle" lights looked at least more muscular and different, plus they are more closely related to the C7 Corvette tails..

I love the new Camaros. I don't think it looks cheap at all.

I absolutely love the new Camaro rear end. The new hood extractor on the SS and Z/28 looks a bit cheap, but meh not much you can do when the car wasn't originally designed for it and it's 2 year away from a whole new car.

'13.
'14 looks like a Prelude. They were going for a '69 look but did not pull it off IMO.

None of those booties need explainin'

I'd still buy one. Too bad they got rid of the steelies, those looked good.

I thought the same thing until I saw them in person. The new tails, although different from the squircles of before, do work well with the lines and overall styling of the car. notbad.jpg.

To be fair, the Camaro is kind of cheap. I think the rear end does a good job of making sure they aren't stepping on the toes of the more expensive Corvette, while still looking decently modern (although I never really loved either tail light design).

Prelude? Not really.
I think the 2014s are stunning, they did a lot with just a refresh.

It went from characterful pre-2013 to blah post-2013. At least the rear had a face before but now it's just bland.

Something in between would have been better. The 14 looks pretty uninspired. It looks like they took the 13 and just squared off and extended the light to the existing panel gap.

Is it bad that i think this still looks better than the real one?

the 14 camaro back end makes me say "MEH"

Not so sure about the new taillights. The older ones always screamed "Camaro" much louder.

I am pretty sure they changed the taillights exactly because the C7 has similar ones. They can't have the pony car looking too similar to the halo car from the rear.

This was my first thought, as well.

I did a story on this a ways back.

GTA knock-offs are not half bad. I like the roof lines, reminds me of the "C3" rear windows with the buttresses, but that sloped "ass end" is not good. If it was that sloping roofline with say the tails/rear end of the actual 'Vette - I would take it!

On the head. It's like someone brought in a picture of one with the badge photoshopped out and they fell for it.
I can see the evolution in it, it's cleaner, etc, i get it. But still, it's a prelude tail. Just needed something a little more/different.

don't forget export Camaro tails.

Damn, I hadn't seen those before. I would say those would have been a better evolution of the 2013 than the bland ol' 2014 lights...

That's what I see....
Still, better than the new ones.

I like both, but I'm glad they changed them with arrival if that thing people call a corvette.

Front looks awful, rear looks awful, the interior is still awful, and the blindspots are still awful. I'd rather have the pre-refresh, just as I'd take a G8 over an SS.

Yup.

the 2014 ss looks like a regular sedan at the back

To make matters more confusing, the ZL1 retains the old front end.
But it has the new rear.

This. 2014 all the way.

I prefer 2014.
The half-moon lights never really worked on the back end, and seemed both overly small and kind of forced. They were the result of that Stingray concept project, which we saw in Transformers 2, which means that the Camaro actually has Corvette lights and not the other way around. Still, I think the new lights work with with the car's lines much better and they should have gone with them from the start.

The OG tail lights look hideous. GM got it right when they went with the new tails.
